"Who We Are"
At Innovating Behaviors, we are a team of dedicated professionals committed to improving the lives of children and families through high-quality behavioral services. Founded in September 2021 in Modesto, California, our organization was built on a shared belief that meaningful change begins with compassion and collaboration.
Our founders recognized the growing need for ethical, accessible, and individualized ABA therapy in the Central Valley. What began as a small team with a big vision has grown into a trusted provider known for its professionalism, consistency, and family-centered approach.
We specialize in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, using evidence-based strategies to help children build communication, independence, and social skills. Every program is guided by data, compassion, and a deep respect for the families we serve.
Providers we work with
- Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC)
- Health Plan of San Joaquin (HPSJ)
Our Mission
Provide high quality behavioral services based on the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis in order to improve the quality of life of individuals and their families.

Jose Vicente, MS, BCBA
I’ve been working with children and families since 2014, supporting individuals with autism as a Behavioral Therapist, Program Manager, and BCBA. I’m passionate about helping children achieve meaningful progress.
Jennifer Marshall, MS, BCBA
Since entering the field in 2013, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with children and continuing to grow in my knowledge and experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I believe that every child and family has unique needs and goals that are deeply important to them. Being able to support their growth and celebrate their progress through our services is incredibly rewarding. Watching both children and families build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve meaningful milestones is what makes this work so fulfilling for me.
Vanessa Perez, MS, RBT (Program Manager)
I have been working in the field for over eight years, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting and helping children reach their fullest potential. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sociology and later obtained my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). My passion lies in creating positive, meaningful changes in the lives of the children and families I work with
Mayra Deharo, MS, RBT (Program Manager)
As a Program Manager, I am dedicated to supporting children and families through individualized, evidence-based interventions. My approach centers on building strong relationships, collaborating closely with caregivers, and applying measurable strategies to promote meaningful growth in communication, social skills, and independence. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from National University. Outside of sessions, I enjoy running, exploring nature, and spending time with my dog, as I believe a balanced life helps me be a better therapist.
Alma Vicente, MSW, RBT (Program Manager)
As a program manager, I am deeply passionate about working with children and collaborating closely with their families to foster meaningful, lifelong independence. For me, the most rewarding part of this field is witnessing out clients’ progress over time and celebrating those breakthrough moments alongside their families and our clinical team. I believe that successful ABA therapy is a collaborative effort, and I am dedicated to mentoring our behavior technicians to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. Outside of work, I love staying active and spending time with my family.
Maryela Soto Mendoza, BA, RBT, (Program Manager)
As a Program Manager in ABA, success is measured not only by progress data, but by the trust we build with families and the dignity we preserve for every learner. As well as remembering that behind every treatment plan is a child, a family, and a future worth investing in.
